Last week I ran my truck out of fuel while coming down a canyon in the pasture. put diesel in it and cracked 3 injectors, cranked it over until diesel was pouring out and it has been running fine. then 2 days ago it while coming to a stop light it revved up on its own for jsut a second and when I took off it sputtered and died. It had a Full tank of fuel and I did the same process as above and back to normal again, for now! Any ideas. was thnniking it might be the airdog or the edge, or the Inj pump. I really do not know what to do with this thing anymore! Thanks a million!

check engine light has not come on so I'm assuming no codes!

 

No CEL does not always mean there are no codes.

Put the key in the ignition and turn one click. This is the "off" position. The next position is "on". From the "off" position, quickly cycle "on" - "off" - "on" - "off" - "on". Leave it in the "on" position and look at the odomoter. If any codes are stored, they will be displayed. When done, it will read "P done" and go back to the mileage.

 

Running an injection pump that low on fuel is bad mojo. My guess is you burned up the VP44 injection pump.
