Dodge down, need help
Dodge down, need help
I have a 2000 dodge 2500 and was driving down the road and it just stalled and would not restart. it has 18psi fuel pressure. Any one had this problem before ? Any and all help is welcomed. Thanks
It's easy to check the lift pump. Just open the water drain valve on the fuel filter and turn the key to bump start twice and leave it on. it will run the fuel pump for 30 mseconds. if you are getting fuel out the drain pipe, you have a VP pump problem.
Hmm , I just thought of something. There are a bunch of posts about our trucks having faulty sending units for fuel level in the tank. Before you check the tough stuff, why not dump a few gallons of diesel in from a jery can. It would suck to do a lot of work just to find out you were out of fuel.

I have a Fass lift pump. I thought of the faulty sender and dumped 5 gal of fuel in it. I'm checking the lines for a suction leak before the pump. Is there a way to check the VP to see if it is ok ?
