delete muffler?

hi there, i have a 99 cummins short bed 4x4 w/ an MBRP 4inch stainless steal exhaust, with a delete pipe thats 36inch and i usually cant get it inspected at too many places, and my cousin was telling me that theres a muffler out there that looks like one but its still a straight pipe inside, just wondering if there was such a thing and if i should even mess with trying to find one, just trying to figure what kinda risk im takin by buying one of em,
thanks

Ya I already have an MBRP muffler that I took off of my truck because I like the sound better with out it, sorry forgot to put this in the original post, the one I'm looking for isn't really a muffler, it looks like one but it doesn't muffle or anything because it has a straight pipe going through it. Has anyone seen one like this?
Thanks

check out the donaldson muffs. They provide free flow and zero restriction but will improve the sound. I had mine the exact same way and it was loud and "raspy" sounding almost to the point where you couldn't have a conversation w/the exhaust noise bouncing off the hwy barrier. My current 5" setup is expandit.

In the description they say the muffler body helps with resonation, anyone know if this is true or is it just something to put there to keep them out of trouble making an "illegal" muffler?

I dunno, I run a straight pipe and don't have to put my truck to a state inspection.

To get help from a help forum. Do you always have to contribute before you can get some help?

ok well got the truck inspected! i took it to a place close by that inspected my brothers truck and passed it even though it was straight pipe, the place rejected me once even though i had a muffler because the dumb shmuck that did it said it was straight pipe because it didn't have a cat, which we all know that these older trucks did not have one. but this time they passed me with no problems! My brother was talking to a guy at a shop that does inspections and the guy told him here in Texas these diesels don't have to have the muffler but you can't remove the cat which we don't have. also he said that next year theres going to emissions controls test for all vehicles except diesels!which sounds good to me cause its an additional $30.
