my 98 24valve has a 7 second delay on wait to start lamp,after it comes on and then goes off truck starts and runs fine,ive found this is due to no fuel system relay power to pin 86 coming from ecm.has anyone had this problem.i have powered my holley blue to key on power and it is running when key in turned on,so i know its not fuel delivery problem. my thought is could i run a key on voltage in place of the ecm supply relay wake-up. my problem is im not getting power to injection pump nor the lift pump until the wait to start lamp comes on and its delayed now, maybe a ecm issue ,any other suggestions

do you have a aftermarket security system installed? some of them wont let the truck start till all the gauges have cycled one of our 99s has a small plastic key like thing under the dash that you pull to dis arm the truck starting system .turn key wait 7 sec +- and it starts. just a thought

 

No alarm. I tried disconnecting battery for an afternoon, left key on, and touched + to - to reset computer, didnt help. Any other ideas im thinking time for new ecm.

 

Did you ever find the problem? I have the same problem on my 98.5.
