Just bought my First Diesel, 2001, 2500,
After reading about lift pump issues, I want to ask if I should just replace mine now, it has 48,000 miles,
if so, what pump would you buy, and do you recommend a gauge too ?

Fass is pretty good but they still fail mine lasted 6 years before I had to replace it, you still have to check your fuel pressure. If you go for a fass make sure you get one with the adjustable fuel pressure

You bought an 01 cummins with 48k on it?
(Or, I should say....You bought the only 01 cummins with less than 50k in existance).
