dead pedal

dead pedal

my buddy has a '98 24v and the pedal will go dead so he shuts it off turns back on works for awhile,just replaced lift pump (somebodys idea) still problem thinkin probably tps what your thoughts? will a 98 show codes?

Check the filter. Sounds like a demand or high flow problem.

Check the fuel flow at the VP44. It should have a "healthy" stream of fuel into a coffee can with the lift pump running.

Of course the TPS (APPS?) could be sending only 1/2 the signal voltage at WOT. I don't know the 98 models.

Lastly, a dead pedal syndrome may be a dreaded IP failure, but you can do your search on this forum for that.
