Dead pedal?

I have an 02 4x4 6 spd. and about 50% of the time now I am getting the dead pedal. I can put the pedal to the floor and the truck just won't go. Any suggestions to what this may be?

Thanks,
Ryan

Thumbs down silversmoker

Sounds like the injection pump is going out on ya....A friend of mine just went through that whole deal with his 2001. His truck had the exact same symptoms.......dead pedal!! He ended up getting a new lift pump & injection pump under warranty. Took care of the problem

I really don't see this being the vp, is there anything thing else it might could be? I'm not getting hard starts or anything other than the fact that my fuel pressure has dropped about 3 psi.

unplug any fueling boxes, boost foolers etc. first and see if it still does it. I had a boost fooler that was causing my problems. When i took it off, no more dead pedal.

Check the APPS sensor that is one of the main causes of the dead pedal the only problem with checking it is you need a scan tool to see the percentage of the APPS when you push the go pedal. It hardly ever sets a code.

I have a buddy that knows how to do so I will let him do that. We will see what that does.

Thanks,
