cummins swap

im looking at buying a 99 3\4 4x4 V10 truck what are some issues i might look for or what parts are needed or if anyone has done this before which im sure someone has swaped in a cummins 5.9

why wouldn't u just buy one with the diesel in it ???? there are plenty out there...u looking for a major pita job ?

Swapping a 12v engine would be easier than the electronic 24v engine.

You're talking about swapping the engine and mounts, transmission (maybe swapping bell houses instead), drive shafts, fuel lines, fuel tank, exhaust, the harness, dual batteries, transmission cross member, gauge cluster and various other bits of junk.

You're looking at many, many hours of work and obscene amounts of extra money. It could take countless hours just to get your gauge cluster to read right (new fuel sender, temperature sender, etc..). you're looking at tearing the truck down to pretty much the frame in the front to replace all this.

I would buy a diesel truck.

Or you could buy my 99' Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Sport extended cab/short bed loaded interior with a ATS converter/TransGo VB trans...
