Depends.....what do you want the cracked 53 for?........if you want it for the short block - it is worth nothing.....it is scrap.......if you want it for everything but the block, then it is worth some $ to you........too many factors there to pin a price on.....you have to decide: what is it worth to YOU?

If its the normal type crack the 53's get, take it to lock and stitch get it repaired and you have a full operational motor.

What are you asking us exactly??? Your 53 block is cracked and you want to sell it for whatever you can get for it??? Or you found a cracked 53 that someones wants to sell to you???

If it's your motor than maybe you have an idea what the internals are like......... If it's somebody elses....... you allready know the block is no good and you don't know what salvegable parts it has or what condition components are in.

You should wait and see how long yours lasts. Knowing how and why they crack, I doubt seriously that it will stay that way if used hard. The only "fix" would be welding where added material stiffened the corner radius. I would not put a damaged block in a truck of mine. It just begs for trouble. I respect what you did, in your case, but that would not be a place to start with a motor.

I interpeded the post as he already had a cracked block. I definently would not start out repairing and installing a motor that had a crack.
