clutch issues STILL

so i replaced my very worn out clutch because 2 weeks ago i lost all pedal pressure...got the new one bolted up tonight and the tranny back up there (still have 2 more evenings worth of work to get it running) but i hooked the slave cylinder back up...and tried to check the pedal pressure with the new clutch.

NOTHING, just like before...but the fluid is not leaking or going anywhere, the master cylinder is still full. tomorrow ill be getting the slave cylinder assembly from the dealer hopefully...and find out what happens with that. i needed a new clutch anyway...but having my truck down for 2 weeks has been very rough.

what happens with the pedal is its very hard to push for the first inch or so...then you hear fluid or air somewhere give way and the pedal nearly falls to the floor and if you basically have to pull it back to the top again.

now i have to decide whether to justify the dealers high price on a complete sealed system... or if i should go to parts suppliers around my area and get an aftermarket one and make it work.

ive heard of guys buying the much less expensive aftermarket pieces, but needing to modify them to work with the exisiting master cylinder????

whats your take on this fellas???

called both local dealerships

S&S auto says they have 2 of the master/slave kit in stock...for $199.00

Thompson dodge says they can order it, nobody in maryland shows one in stock on his computer...and its only $106

Your clutch master cylinder is bad. South Bend Clutch has them for a good price.

Yeah i would say that it is more likely your master cylinder...those little rubber cups will wear out over time!!

Do yourself a favor and get the complete system that doesn't require bleeding, saves a lot of grief if you don't have a vacuum bleeder. And if one is worn out, the other is close behind it!!
