Boost and Oil temp Hookup Point
Hello all, Just wanted some advice on where everyone prefers their boost gauge and L/O temp gauge to hook to on engine. I have heard drill and tap the intake elbow at block, and also next to MAP sensor in spare plug. Any ideas would be aprreciated, the pro's and con's of different arrangements. Also is it worth putting a gauge on the F/O return? I have room on the gauge panel I built in the cab for a total of 12 2-1/16" gauges, which yes I know is probably rediculous, but I am a total gear head. Plus it will look like a Marine Engine room set up, reminding me of growing up working on the mighty 12v71Ti's

Boost Hookup... This is the easiest way to go here.. Not to mention the tube won't get damaged here.

I've heard you can hook up a oil temp guage into the extra plug on top of the oil filter housing. As for the oil temp I've heard it follows the coolant temp... Not much different...

Cool, thanks, Thats where I was thinking. I built a -4 Aeroquip stainless lined hose with stainless fittings, that way its there for life, overkill, yes, but hey why not I like Monsterizing stuff. Thanks again. Detroit Diesel's Rock
