Dose anyone know if the transcender tempature adapter from diesel manor is a good way to hook up a trans temp gauge?http://dieselmanor.com/dm_products/DM-TRS.asp

 

I used the test port on the pass side of the tranny. Some say to get a more accurate reading to "tap" directly into the pan. Sorry, but I have not had exp w/that adapter.

 

Bump. Any one have any exp. with the trandcender?

 

Watch using the test port.
Some have installed the sender too deep, and have a created a problem blocking fluid flow.
Also, the temp will not read as high as it might actually be. (same trouble with the 'pan' installations)
The most accurate 'hot' reading is where the hot fluid comes out of the trans heading for the heat Exchanger.

The 'adapter' could work, but it seems the readings might be off with that chunk of aluminum possibly in the airflow.....still better than other options.

The older Ram trans 'hot' line sold by the dealer had a temp sender port manufactured into the line.
