block numbers

if the 53 block is bad, what other block numbers should you look for in a '01-02 .
lots of people prefer the 6 speed, is the automatic that much of an problem.

i have one and am not worried, shouldnt stop u from buying, but the 55 and the 56 especially were said to be harder then a diamond.

Most 01's & 02's are out of Mexico and will have multi digit numbers (smaller size numbers). These are all strong blocks, IMO.

i see someone in my arear has and '01 for sale that claims it is an ho but its an auto, i thought they were all 6 speeds.

No HO engines in 01 or 02 that were Autos!
