24v block numbers ?

I was looking at a 2000 Dodge 2500 today. I looked on the driver's side under the power steering pump above the oil pan and the tail end of the numbers seem to be.......... 9A5 or 8A5

Anyone have number like this ?

Thanks guys !

The block numbers are cast right into the block and are on both sides. At least mine is. My block is a 55. The dreaded cracking block is a 53. The numbers are about an inch high.

Some blocks don't have a number cast in the normal spot, its higher and just a series of number and letters, these are Mexican blocks not the Brazil blocks that had the large letters stamped on the side.

Info from here

I don't think the Mex blocks have a passenger side id. The mex #'s are about 1/4" size and kinda hard to read.

The Mexican blocks are considered the best for longevity and reduced wear.

Look on the vin for Mexican trucks. Its a number 3 in the first position. Likely but not always a Mexican block. You have to check the block for sure.

As for years of manufacture, I am unsure.
