block numbers
Is there a site that i can look on, too run block numbers? As everyone knows, my block cracked, I finally found a donor truck. It's D350 with 150,000 miles, a local guy has it and it sounds and runs good, he even sent an oil sample off for me and it came back good. All he wants is the frame to make a trailer out of and told me i could have the engine and everything i want off of the truck for $1000.00! I thought this a pretty good deal. Anyway, the block on the donor truck has a grid pattern on the bottom drivers side, kinda like small raised dots about a foot sqaure on the side of the block. Mine does not have this, it is smooth. The truck is an '89 model but he said the engine was replaced in '95. Any input would be apreciated.

On the drivers side front end of the engine on the timing cover you should find a Cummins CPL tag with the serial number, HP, and year of manufacture. Directly above that there should be an emissions tag that states it meets all emissions requirements of that same year.
