APPS-VP44 diagnosis..assistance..!?
Anyone in the austin area have a fuel pressure guage that I can use to check the LP pressures from the schrader fitting on my VP44?
I also am in search of someone with a diagnostic computer to read codes to see if my truck is throwing codes for the APPS or the VP44. None of the parts houses has a computer except Autozone and theirs only works if the "check engine" light is no and mine is not on....yet. I have some intermittent "dead pedal" and don't seem to have the power I used to. I read a good article from Blue Chip Diesel Performance on the vp44 and it if they are correct it seems like my APPS is going out or more than likely my vp44 computer is going out.
I was in the process of upsizing/relocating my LP and looking at 3guage pillar setup, EGT's, BOOST and Fuel Pressure until I saw the Quad Commander which for the money seems to be a better way to go for the future. It appears though that they are backordered which does not help me much at the present to check LP pressures. Now I need to run these tests to see if my money will need to be set aside for another vp44.
Any help from someone knowledgable with these tools in the area would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

UH OH-
Using Mopar1973's key on/off I came up with the P1693 code........according to DieselMinded's post this means I have more codes and need a scanner to read. the other site link from Mopar1973... states this P1693 means-"Turbo Charge Control Circuit Malfunction"
Still requesting help....I drive 42 miles each day to work one way so I am starting to panic at the thought of how long this pump will last

What exactly is the cel?
I did the APPS reset Saturday and it didn't help. The intermittent dead pedal is very intermittent, however last time my IP went out it shut down the truck at 65 mph while I was hauling cattle.
That was a mess

If you are replacing the LP, a 1/8" NPT straight fitting will be supplied with the campaign pump ($64.90 from Arlington, TX Cummins) Part #4090046. Talk to George (817-640-6801). Visit with the Grainger people and get yourself a 0/30 lbs. 2" liguid filled guage and the 1/8" x 1/4" proper adapter, screwing it into the backside of the filter assembly (loosen up the Dip Stick to get it out of the way). Secure the DS back, fitting it (DS) against the gauge to take any vibration out of the assembly.
I just finished this little project and now have 13/14 lbs. going into the back of the filter @ idle. No IP yet, @ 256.000.
Good Luck, pc
