Apps sensor
Well, my 99 has been running a bit rough for the last few days. Hesitate than runs fine, than rough again. It did not throw a code untill tonight. I guess I am happy that it finally did so I could narrow down the problem. P0122 - Acclerator position sensor voltage low. Is there any checking out of the component I can/should do. I have access to an OTC Genysis at school. Or is it merely a remove and replace item? Do I need to buy it from Chrysler, or is it an item I may be able to source from Cummins? I am leaving for a fishing trip to the west coast on Thurs so I need to act quickly. Thanks.

I just performed the APPS reset, cleared the codes with the scan tool. Went for a drive and no driveability issues. Checked APPS voltage with scan tool, .41 volts up to 3.7 volts at full throttle. I am not sure if I am happy or not. Going on a road trip at the end of the week, do I replace the unit or not?
Any one else that has had problems with the APPS sensor. If they go on/off until they get repaced, I may as well just replace it. I also don't want to throw on a part if it is not needed.
Last item, the diagnostic port seems somewhat wonky, I need to give it a bit of jiggly jiggly to establish communications. Is this likely causing me troubles?
Thanks for any help/advice.
