Am I loosing 5th gear?
While driving on the highway in 5th, I was accelerating when my RPM's went up without much increase in speed, kind of like the clutch was slipping or I was driving on a slick surface. I put it in 4th and could not detect any slippage while accelerating. It continues to works in 5th if I don't get into it hard. The engine is stock. Does this sound like to beginnings of the nut comming loose or is this something else? I thought that when the nut backs off, fifth gear moved out of the way of engagement. I have no other problems with the cluch or shifting.

5th gear either goes out completely or it doesnt with the 5th gear nut problem.
your clutch is slipping. it will do it first in the highest gear, as it gets worse, it will move down. your overdrive gear ratio applies more force on the clutch, so she slips first there. mine started in 6th only, after 2 weeks 5th and 4th were slipping. Time to upgrade my friend.
