Adding 2 stroke oil to Fuel
Hey moparman! Nice web page.
It reduced cetane a bit. But not much... If it was a big change the MPG and HP/TQ would fall but even at 105:1 it don't.
But with cetane levels being really high in Idaho it don't hurt to bring the cetane down a bit and add some BTU's back to the fuel.

43 Cetane in the summer and 47 Cetane in the winter...So there is no need for me to add cetane booster to my fuel.
So as NoSeeUm stated above, straight 2-stroke being the way to go, does anyone really think that using only 2 stroke is the best route. I live in Canada and I am paying $40 for a 1/2 gallon of Stanadyne performance. I don't mind but I have used a mix of that and 2 stroke and noticed a noise reduction. The thing is I would delete the Stanadyne and just use the 2 stroke. All I want to do is the best for my little ole 5.9.
If you could only add 1 item what would you do? 2 stoke or additive?
I will be looking forward to the replies.

Hi Guys,
Ive been using 2stroke for about 30,000 k and I notice the difference in noise and It may be coincidence but My mileage increased slightly over a full tank.I don't add anything else for winter gelling and my cottage is near algonquin park and I've never been let down and it gets pretty cold up there.I go at least every other weekend for sleddin when there is enough snow.my .02.

I have just started using the 2-stroke in my truck and have noticed a huge difference in pump noise and it idles smoother as well. Only concern i would have would be will it cause the fuel filter to get clogged much faster?
I've never seen a fuel filter plug up on mine (yet) I doubt is an issue, I always keep a spare uder the back seat, as you never know when/if you get a bad tank of fuel.
I too thought there might be a problem in the winter but I'm not even using anti gel like Power Service this year and it has been -20 f. No problems at all. To top it off I have 40k+ on the filter. I have two spares on the back seat in my truck. haha. You just never know. haha Got an oil filter and 12 qts of oil too.

UPDATE! Factors Affecting 2 Cycle Oil Performance
Well guys and gals...
I made another up-date to the web site. I made a page explaining some of trhe causes why 2 cycle oil performed poorly. Usually its not the 2 cycle oil but another cause over looked by the owner...

I only had 4 ounces of Walmart TCW3 when I last got fuel. But I did have a 16/4 cocktail of TCW3 and PS. So I put in 20/4 with about 34.5 gallons.
Gotta get another gallon tomorrow or Friday!

Bought a quart of TCW-3 for about half of what a gallon costs at Walmart.
Put 28oz in for 32 gallons.
Had to tug the tank around a fair amount this tank. Got 17.xxx (book is in the truck and my memory just ain't that good).
