99 Dodge Fuel

I have a 99 Dodge and the transfer pump went out and then the injector pump went out, what's the best system to fix this so it dosen't happen again.
My truck also has a Dinasourses power button that gives it 30% more HP might be the problem. Thanks B B D D

The "best" fix is to get a fuel pressure gauge so you know when the lp goes out or is getting weak. The vulcan big line kit or a fass system are very popular upgrades but no system is failure proof.

The fuel pump that you talk about is very bad
Just say no to the intank pump.
I helped put on the Vulcan big line kit with the LP relocation kit and it is very nice and pretty affordable.
I have the Bully Dog fuel management kit and it is very nice but jegs jacked the price up by one hundred dollars. The vulcan kit is way cheaper and you can get the Campaign pump (stock LP) from your local Cummins dealer for about $70.
P.S. WELCOME to the DTR

I have never heard of anyone being happy with the intank pump.

IMO the BEST fix would be a mechanical pump, but that is $$$

The FASSII would be a good choice, or a vulcan kit, with a new pump, depending on how much you want to spend.

Well, I just replaced the vp44 on my 99 ctd...not fun the notable activity before the vp44 was the LP replacement 6 months ago. I'm happy to report that the truck now runs better than ever and I installed a fuel pressure gauge in the cab with a "pillar pod" (it looks good) when I installed the vp44. With a NAPA lift pump and a Superchip setting for 70 Hp over factory, I don't ever get below 8 psi of pressure and will run an average of 13 psi. This is adequate for my chip setting. Moral of the story...no fuel pressure for the vp44 is bad...very bad, over 4 psi is acceptable, more is better, and factory lift pumps will give you the adequate fuel pressure if you're not cranking out too much Hp.

Have fun installing your gauge...it's not hard to do

WELL, I'm not saying the in-tank pump is a good fix, for the cost, by no means, BUT to call it crap, no (for a stock truck it work fine)., but for the cost of it you can put on something alot better. There are a LOT of intanks out there, and I haven't here one person say that they've lost a VP with one (i'm sure there's been some, but I have seen one on here, yet). On a bombed truck you can pull them down to 0, but a cheap helper pump you can get all the pressure you need. JMO
