nospin4me,

are you positive your reading a true 70 mph, I used a certified radar, plus you have a different trans than the stock one,(dont know if that would affect it,maybe different speedo gear). Your rpms are just way different than mine... .

anyway thanks yall for the advise and the swap went good.... now on to the next project.... softer suspension ......

The speedo gear in my tranny is stock.
The speed in my truck has been verified 3 different ways...GPS, radar, and having the wife drive beside me on the highway in our Jeep . All 3 netted the same speed at the same RPM.

To others who may be reading this thread later:

This swap of going to 4.10s after after installing 35" tires is really only necessary with the auto trans.

If you have the 6-speed, then you can probably get away with the stock gearing.

Figure a 300rpm difference at hwy speeds between 3.54s and 4.10s or between 35" tires and 31s. Consider this a rule of thumb, as it's not exact and will vary with speed.

Thats what I'm talkin about! 3.54s with 295s (33.42") I turn 1600 at 60. By going to 4.10s I should be about 1900 at 60. Both in O.D.
