2nd Gear TC lockup

2nd Gear TC lockup

TC LOCKUP I know this is the TSB for the cold weather warm up but it also states it enables 2nd gear TC lockup on a manual downshift. Does this mean if you select 2nd it will also lock just going down the road.
I tow a trailer 2nd lock would be nice for the back roads. Also does anyone know if this can be enabled for the 98.5+ trucks.

I highly doubt it.

The 47RE in stock form can't handle 2nd gear lockup, not enough line pressure and a crappy Torque Converter.

Actually surprised the 48RE can.

I was told by the trans shop I deal with, theres no lock up in 1st or 2nd in the 47re

That would be correct, for a stock 47RE.

As mentioned by Snoking, DTT's 47RE does lock up in 2nd gear. It's very impressive. For future reference to anyone considering a tranny upgrade...I came down Pikes Peak in second at 8500 lbs and believe I could have made it all the way with no brakes if it wasn't for rubber necking traffic.

I understand that if you go with ATS class 4 rebuild you;ll get lockup in all 4 gears on the 47re
