2001 Auto Tranny???
2001 Auto Tranny???
Does anyone recall what Dodge did to upgrade the 47re in 2001 when the uped the HP and Torque? I road in a 235/460 Auto truck the other day and boy did it shift much nicer than my 99 ever did. Firm shifts, firm Torque Converter Lock Up, and even a bit higher RPM shifts (I think).
Thanks

On the 01's I thought they controlled the tranny using a computerized torque management program, But people complained about lack of acceleration so dodge came out with a tsb to restore full power. I know this is opposite of what you are seeing. Is it possible that tranny could have been rebuilt or upgraded.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes indeed, the tranny has been replaced (Dodge Reman.) under his existing warranty. It's about 6 months old. Do you think Dodge added further upgrades to the 47re since they stopped using them in 2003? The truck shifts like somenone added a tranny shift kit (like we use to do in the old days).
Thanks for the info.
