02 Air Filter Minder

How do I get the filter minder out of the stock air box without breaking it? Do you just push the rubber seal back out the top? or does it open up and you can screw it out? thanks

I'd just leave it where it is, they are notorious for not working.

If you're changing to another intake system, you don't need it anyway, as you'll be able to visually see the filter getting dirty.

I've had stock air filters plug up with trash and the filter minder never moved for me...I even had it replaced by the dealer and to the day it's never moved. I've used a vacuum source to see if the minder actually does work. Really it does work but you need like 5-10 inches of vacuum to move it. By then it's to late your MPG is going south and the filter media with be distorted...

So I pulled the whole air box out and replace it with a BHAF... Never looking back... No more greasing the gasket, dirt leaking pass, fighting to open that foolish box, etc...

I know that i dont really need it, but the intake system has a hole pre-drilled in the box, if i dont install the filter minder in there ive gotta plug the hole with something that isnt going to fall out,get sucked in, or leak unfiltered air into the hose...

Hmmm... WD40 and work the old one out of the box. I would push the minder out first... That's just me though...

I used a vaccum source to test mine too, it's called my mouth. Before I got my BHAF my stock filter was SHOT, so dirty and gross I hid it in the trash can out of shame. The filter minder was fully open.
I held on to it, but I'm not sure why.

got it handled.... i was just worried about breaking the plastic, same with the nut/rubber grommet combo that holds the stock box on.... was being too gentle with them...

Quad box sounds and feels awsome!!!
