01 rear disc brake upgrade

I have a early 01 quadcab with drums
I just aquired a complete 01 with a disc brake rearend
it is all thats left of this truck is a cab and rearend
all the brake system appears to be intact on this unit.

Anyone know what all I would need to change to put this rearend
under the early 01. gear ratio is the same
or anyone direct me to a thread of someone that has done this swap.
Can't be as easy as just the rearend can it ?

I think it is!!
I'm pretty sure the park brake cables are different and you will have to change them as well, maybe the mastercyl as well

Make sure the trucks both have the hydraboost and look for a proportioning valve for the rears. The e-brake cables are in similar positions on the drums and disc assemblies...you might be ok there. good luck.

I recently did this swap. Take the brake line splitter off your axle & screw the brake lines going to the calipers into your old brake spillter. You will need to shorten your drive shaft if you did not have a dana 80 before & u bolts will be be bigger. The parking brake bolts up but I have not tried to adjust yet. Mine worked with no modifiations to master cylinder or anything else beside I took the bed level censor and tied it up to mimic a fully loaded bed to increase rear brake power. They work great & every stop is consistent & has not locked up in rain or anything. Very happy with it & I now have a dana 80 since I had tore up 2 dana 70's. Good luck, Scott
