cruize control question

How can i check my cruise control system if it works? Right now the buttons do not turn it on, And the right hand button is gone. Is there a bypass to check for function? My uncle's have a freightliner that has 2 toggle switchs for the cruise. One is a on off and the other is a self centering switch for the set, coast, accel, and resume function. Is there anyway i could wire my 92' up like that? I have heard about the clock spring thing. I thought mine was good since my horn works but i have heard that that is possible and it still be bad. Let me know what ya'll think and if you have any ideas. Thanks

Supposedly the buttons are a frequent source of failure.

Anybody know of a way to check to see if the buttons are a problem. I do have a multimeter (thanks mom!! It was a x-mas present). I am kinda desperate, I am tired of being ole' Micrometer foot! haha

Well, if you are missing switches you'll need to fix that little issue first.

Both buttons on the steering wheel are there, just the right hand one is missing the outside part. But you can still use the micro switchs underneath. I will see what i can do. Will try the fuse thing that ezra suggested and will report back.
