Wiring Harness
The one in the Chrysler service manual is just plain lousy. It gives branch circuits so if you want to attempt to trace a complete circuit you have to keep flipping back and forth through various pages which adds to the confusion.
Anyone else got any leads on this?
How about a source for a new/used wiring harness complete? My 90 D250 is in dyer need of a new one or if I had a good diagram I could possibly build one from scratch.

this is a great question - I always assumed I'd have no problem checking and repairing the rat's nest of a wiring harness I just pulled out of my 1990 W250 diesel .... Looks like it won't be as easy as initially thought.

Looking at Chrysler's rat-nest idea of wiring, I believe I could do way better just wiring everything point-to-point.
Remember, O.E.M.'s idea is cheap and quick first, and quality only by accident.
Look behind the driver-seat, behind the dash, and under the hood of any decent older big truck, such as the Macks, I-Hs, and etc., and you will see much better thought out wiring systems.

Michell manuals has the best I have seen. Go to Mitchell1support.com Tell them you were considering subscribing to their service, and you should be able to get a 2 week online trial to the service.
None of the factory gauges work, the wipers don't work, headlights don't work, horn doesn't work.......get the idea? Also if you saw the condition of the current harness/wiring then you could understand why it would need replacing.
I found a factory Dash wiring harness from a 93 off another member on this board, so I all I need now is the harness for the engine bay. I can re do the rear chassis harness on my own, not much to it.
