Window visors

So my buddy dropped off a pretty nice set of steel chrome window visors. He said he found them in a ramcharger he scrapped. They weren't on the truck just sitting inside so we don't know how they attach. There is 2 small holes on it(I'm assuming to mount them) and they do fit pretty nice between the glass and window seal. Anybody know?

I know most of the ones you buy new now either attach to the door or in between the window and the seal. Not sure how but that's probably where they belong.

That is the way all the ones I can remember seeing are even the old ones.
The holes could be "fixturing holes" to keep the material in place during the stamping process.

If I'm remembering right, it was a long long time ago, I had some of those on a '78 Power Wagon. They install between the door window frame and the glass seal. The little bitty holes are for teeny screws to hold the visors in place. Just drill a hole the right size for the screw you get at the hardware store. You might be able to use some two-sided tape if there is enough surface area, but if I remember there isn't much of a lip on the visor. This was nearly 20 years ago!

It appears they're still available.

I put a set on mine, each had 3 holes, and 3 little PITA screws. Had to get the first one marked, mount the visor, tweak it into place to mark the other 2 holes, remove, drill, re-mount. When I got my drill bits they came in pairs, and the first one broke in the second hole.

Did I mention those tiny little screws are a real PITA?

Although mine came with holes in the units and instructions for drilling the door, they hold themselves in place just fine (i.e., a "friction fit") between the door and window seal with no screws whatsoever. I suggest you try same before drilling teeny holes in your door sheetmetal...

Couple dabs of clear silicone and some masking tape until it cures would do the trick. No holes... no rust.

I got mine through Summit Racing. Not saying that's the problem, but there was no way they were going to stay themselves. I did tweak them a bit but the screws were needed in mine.
