Whos running electric lift pumps and do you like em???

I was considering installing a airdog on my first gen. I am new to first gens and wasent 100% sure that I could do this. I considered doing a piston lift pump install but heard they were only good to 350 hp and I am hopfully going to have more hp then that within the next year. So my question is this what other setups work well and how hard is it to install an electric pump?

I have a Walbro 392 on my truck. The fuel pressure gauge is boring.

Here's the thread from when I did the install:

The Air Dog is a good setup provided you run it straigh to the injection pump, not through the stock filter.

I'm running a holley blue, i have it regulated to 9 psi, it never drops. I just mounted it on the frame rail right in front of the tank and ran 3/8 hose to the filter. I've heard a lot of good things about airdog, but my setup was only about $180.

Ive had good luck with FASS pumps and my Aeromotive A1000 has been pumping up to 50psi for about 13k now without any trouble.

Wannadiesel that was an awesome write up. So since the airdog already has a filter I do not need the stock pump or filter anymore correct? Also If I install a new pickup line like wannadiesel did do I need to install a mess screen to filter out any big particals before it gets to the air dog? Would an airdog100gph be the best or a 150 (fear the pressure might be to high for the VE) Also how much psi can the ve handle???

You can get the Air Dog set for whatever pressure you want. 15 psi is good. I would put a suction strainer in the line from the pickup like is in my Walbro writeup.

Where are you checking the pressure?

i have an air dog 100 with filters. i found that if i cut the 90 degree mounting plate off the plate that squeezes the frame and drilled a couple holes in the [frame squeeze?] plate there was plenty of room for the pump/lines without inteference with the tranny. works best with the pump mounted straight down the frame rail. 15#s.[my 15# spring runs abt 12-13] don't want the factory filter in the mix. i like the idea of the filters, looks good in the tests with the air separator. website shows spray on a piece of paper with and without the air filter. tc
