Unhappy white smoke, no rpm's

I have a 1992 Dodge 250 turbo diesel. For the last several weeks, it has been running worse and worse every day. It's more and more difficult to get any rpm's out of it and keep it running. The air cleaner, air filter, fuel filter, and turbo pump have all be replaced......no change. It's to the point now that I have to keep my foot on the pedal just to get a few hundred rpm's out of it to move it! So, it is just sitting in my driveway. The local Dodge dealer set the timing on the injuector pump (or so they said)......no change! I have been told that I need to replace the injector pump, but that's way expensive!!! Before I go that route, is there anything else I can try before spending a boatload of money to have the injector pump replaced? Thanks!!

Have you replaced the lift pump (just above the starter, looks like an old gasser fuel pump) and checked the line to the tank for air leaks?

Sorry! I meant to say transfer (or lift) pump, NOT turbo pump? Yes, the lift pump has been replaced, and the line to the tank is in perfect shape. The truck has about 120,000 miles

The only thing I would do before replacing the pump is to disconnect the lift pump and rig a piece of clear line so you can observe the fuel flow. If you see bubbles, you have a problem with the fuel line. Just because it looks good doesn't mean you don't have an air leak.

I think I'll try that and keep my fingers crossed that there is an air leak in the line. If not, I guess I'll have to suck it up and spend the money! Thank you!

Fuel Filter? This sounds just like when my fuel filter/seperator plugged up. Under load, the injector pump can't get enough fuel. You end up cavitating a bit, then it throws the whole injection timing/process off. Hence, the white smoke.
