low rpm miss white smoke 04.5

When its is cold I have a miss from 1800 to like 2200 rpm. The colder it is the more it happens. It happens more at part throttle than at full. It also smokes while doing this.Changed Fuel filter twice.

There is a TSB issued to correct this problem. See your dealer. Chat with them about the corresponding TSB on fuel mileage too, or you will come away getting 9 MPG after the fix. They need to do both updates for it to work correctly.

Had a new pressure pump installed on my 04.5 because it was leaking fuel. covered under warranty. drove it to the beach noticed the cold start white smoke. On the way back noticed a skip in the motor at 65 to 70 mph. Today had the update flash done for the white smoke and MPG. update done. they also replaced the air filter and it seems to run much better. I'll know more tomorrow when I get on the open road. truck has 20,000 miles on it.

agree on the tsb, she will still smoke on startup when cold, under 35 deg F will put out a plume for about ten seconds, the colder it is seems the longer it will smoke, pluggin in stops it almost entirely.
