Hi. Im thinking about doing a valet switch in my '92. I'd like to buy another tophat to drill and tap so mines not ruined if I decide to make it stock again. Anyone know where to find one cheap?

 

So not to confuse anyone, the part you are talking about is the top to the AFC housing, the Tophat we are familliar with is what connects the governor spring to the injection pump and is also frequently lost into a black hole when it is handled.

Other than from a junk pump a Bosch dealer would have the cover.

According to the exploded parts diagram, it's known as the "closing cover." Bosch P/N: 1 465 530 725.

 

Oops, sory wrong term. Yea im talking about the top of the AFC with the smoke screw in it lol.

 

The part number is exactly that. Here's the parts diagram and list for the pump top, position 49.
