Angry "Top hat" spring

So I decided now would be a good time to replace the seal on my throttle lever in the pump since the head is off and its easy to access. When I unhooked the gov spring the top hat went flying . I found everything but the spring, looked forever everywhere and can't find it. Where would the best place to get one be? Local bosch dealer? how would I explain which spring im talking about since I don't think top hate spring is gonna cut it
Heres a pic of what im talking about

I would find a local bosch dealer, and you may just have to have them print you out a parts breakdown or show them on their computer which spring you need.

If I were you I would get a pencil magnet type deal and put it down into your pump to make sure it didn't fall down in there. And/or suck all the diesel out of it so you can see whats in the bottom.

In the manual I have its simply shown as the "idle spring". I'll post a pic of the diagram when it's approved.

The spring you're talking about is labelled "compression spring" in the exploded view of the pump and the part number is: 1 464 610 302 (Bosch)

Hope that helps bud.....

I did the exact same thing the first time I did a gsk. but was lucky enough to find all the parts. My spring was laying on the frame.

I know the feeling,I looked for the top hat washer for 2 hours when changing out gov springs. Now I aways use a magnet to keep the top hat and spring under control. check the cross member good and inter rail, I found my top hat laying on the control arm. It's amazeing where that thing can go. Hope u find it.
