"Top hat" spring
So I decided now would be a good time to replace the seal on my throttle lever in the pump since the head is off and its easy to access. When I unhooked the gov spring the top hat went flying
. I found everything but the spring, looked forever everywhere and can't find it. Where would the best place to get one be? Local bosch dealer? how would I explain which spring im talking about since I don't think top hate spring is gonna cut it
Heres a pic of what im talking about

I would find a local bosch dealer, and you may just have to have them print you out a parts breakdown or show them on their computer which spring you need.
If I were you I would get a pencil magnet type deal and put it down into your pump to make sure it didn't fall down in there. And/or suck all the diesel out of it so you can see whats in the bottom.
The spring you're talking about is labelled "compression spring" in the exploded view of the pump and the part number is: 1 464 610 302 (Bosch)
Hope that helps bud.....

I know the feeling,I looked for the top hat washer for 2 hours when changing out gov springs. Now I aways use a magnet to keep the top hat and spring under control. check the cross member good and inter rail, I found my top hat laying on the control arm. It's amazeing where that thing can go. Hope u find it.
