I found the pin & spring, is it possible for the washer? to end up inside the
pump????? I have looked everywhere. Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks

It could be, run a small magnet around in there to see. I found one I lost on the transmission cross member.

When I did mine, I lost the top hat. I had to siphon fuel out of the pump by straw, and the part ended up being right on the edge inside, below the fuel level.

I also found some of those parts inside the fuel pump after losing them during one of the installs that I did. I also dropped them in the crossmember and on the floor. Dang little tiny parts.

The crossmember under the engine is a really common place to find stuff you drop.

I found mine on the inside on the C-channel frame in front of the cross member. Remember this, it IS there you just have to be thorough and do it without getting frustrated .

I lost the hat, spring, and post when I was doing my spring. Took me over 2 hours to find all of the parts. They were all in seperate places in the frame.

I'll have to add "Parts may fly all over if you don't!" as a precaution near the "hold it with your index finger" part

Well I finally finished the job, i never did find the cupped
washer.....I looked in all the places mentioned in prior posts, I siphoned the fuel out of the pump houseing, I bought a new skinny telescopeing magnet. I even removed left front wheel........ $3.00 @ my local Bosch Dealer and I was back in business. I did this job before, I guess i got lazy and did not read ahead on the most important detail in the whole job.

Reassembly went well after following the directions.
Thanks for the help.

I just lost my "top hat". I really don't want to take off my fuel pump to make sure it didn't fall inside since the spring and washer both landed on the ground. But; I know if I don't I'm going to end up eatin up the pump and regretting it in the end. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I did not loose any parts inside my pump but BOTH of the hairpin clips flew into orbit from the throttle linkage.

I still haven't found mine. I've ran a magnet in there, siphoned all the fuel out, and still nothing. I am getting pretty frustrated now and it doesn't look like the top hat is small enough to fall that far into the pump. I hope it's not because I really don't want to take it off. Where can I order another one of these things online?

I have bought from all of these guys and they were all good to deal with. Call them though because some don't get back to you if you email them.
