I personally run a fuel pin from M&H. At the time I bought it, he offered a more diverse range of profiles. I chose a more conservative fuel ramp that doesn't slam full fuel fast. He's since made a custom one for me based on our feedback, back and forth.
That being said, based on my running one in the past, those offered by DennyT are a very good product as well.

I have a stage II Denny T and I love it. And my 92 does the same thing as your buddies until its warmed up.

I ground my own. What I'd like to do is get a bare chunk that has the end for the little nut and grind my own from a blank unCNCed but ready to use pin. If that makes sense. I'd like the chance to get a deeper profile than what grinding a stocker can get ya, but grinding it gives a pretty nice profile for the other pin to ride on.

With the DennyT and M&H pin I think the fuel comes on a little too quick, and starts a little too low on the profile too. I get better spool and less smoke and better fuel economy on my ground stock pin over my DennyT. Admittedly though, the Dennyt gives a small amount more power though.

That I had M&H make amounts to the same profile as the stock/OEM pin, but with the deep-end, much deeper than a ground stock pin.
The profile of the ramp (if you will) is almost flat from no boost, to full boost.
That combined with a boost-fooler feeding the AFC diaphragm, has the AFC perform as it is intended to.

that, without a doubt, is exactly what I've wanted to do!

Admittedly though, I hadn't thought of the boost fooler idea. My thinking on it doesn't involve a truck that pushes 60+ psi. More like one that pushes 35+ haha

If you have a lathe you can turn down 6.0 powerstroke headbolts to make fuel pins. LOL If you happen to have some laying around.
