What are your cylinder exhaust temps?

I finally tried what I learned from the Cummins video.

At idle, mine runs from 185 to 190 degrees, measured with an infrared thermometer at the immediate runner per cylinder. For some reason the farthest end of the turbo exhaust housing reaches 250 degrees.

What are yours?

My post turbo reads about 250-300 at idle...will cool down a bit more if idling for a long time.

My gauge (exhaust collector - pre-turbo) as well as the infrared thermometer showed 205.

Why is it that post turbo at the far end of the exhaust housing reaches 250? Just wondering.

I checked mine after redoing the head. Don't remember the temps but I do remember there was a difference at the ends.

My EGT gauge in the manifold reads 250-300* when warmed up. I'll check again with the infra-red and let you know.

I painted the head with tan engine paint and after several runs and one pull I noticed that the exhaust ports at the head had turned a slightly different color on the inner cylinders.

I think its natural to have difference as that is why some manifolds will warp & crack or bend bolts and why a 3-piece is ideal?

I always let my EGTs cool down to 300* before I shut down. Mostly for the turbo but its gotta help the manifold too some.

160-195*.

I guess all those gases when colected and compressed by the turbo heat up another 50* or so

The temps at the cylinder exhaust vary by as much as 5 degrees only. I guess my injectors are pretty consistent.
