4 cylinder or smaller sized 6 cylinder diesel with twin turbo... mmm?

i really am craving something like that, a small diesel with alot of power able to fit inside a small truck/suv/car.

i know some of the foreign higher priced car makers are producing turbo diesel cars now... but who is producing twin turbo from the factory...

and how hard might it be to buy a bolt on turbo so you can have a custom twin turbo vehicle.. mmmm

like i said im cravin this ****

thanks for help

BMW builds a 3.0 liter I6 twin turbo. No chance that you can transplant the system to somewhere else- VG and wastegates controlled by the ECM.

Cummins actually makes a smaller 4cyl generator motor don't they? I coulda swore I saw one in the dealership on a stand when I bought my bearings and stuff, it's been awhile though and my memories not all that sharp. Sure it didn't come with a turbo,,,but that could change Make a sweet riding lawn tractor motor lol.

Just buy a 4BT, that Is my plan in the future, I wouldnt mind swapping one into a nice lowrider dakota or a lifted CJ or something along those lines. I dont know what kind of HP & TQ these engines are capable of, but I guess they are the same as my 12 Valve with 2 Cylinders cut off. The reason I like is because I guess those engines are pleniful, in another post, someone mentioned its what the Frito-Lay trucks have in them, so If you could find one of them, I imagine these engines get really good fuel mileage also.

I would asume the 4bt would make 33% less power than the 6bt would make with what ever mods. A 500hp 4bt could be done "easily" I believe. I don't know much about them though.

i saw one in an international scout a few years back, lightly bombed. the dyno sheet said it made 140 HP and 400 ft lbs of torque, which is comparable to an unmodded 1st gen.

the beauty of the 4BT is that they share lots of parts with the 6BT and bombing them is pretty much the same process with the same parts.

The 4bt's cylinders have the same stroke and displacement of our I6. Cummins refers to the 5.9 as the 6BTA, or the ISB if you have a computer control. The 4BT has 2/3rds the power and torque of the 6BTA. Upgrading it is the same as the 6 but when it comes to stuff like injectors you only need 4 instead of 6.

If someone doesn't understand the breakdown of the code lettering here is the breakdown.

B = "B" series engine
T = Turbocharged
A = After cooled / intercooled
