What type of paint came on the first gen truck from the factory?
Boy, ain't that the truth. Although they never recalled them or even admitted fault, it was an industry wide disaster. I bought mine with the speckled cancer white motif. I believe that it was acrylic enamel paint, that was not compatible with the primer that was used. It wasn't just Dodge either, I still see cars today with the cancer look. Because the problem was the primer, mine had to be completely stripped for the respray...Mark
The front doors and one fender on my conversion were from a 91 and the body shap made me strip them to metal. The rest of the cab was an '85 with single stage and that only needed roughed.

As my dad used to say "good grief" I should've ask what the technical name was! I trying to find out so I'll know how to proceed with new paint.
I guess I've been fortunate because mine has just started to fade on the hood and roof over the last two yrs.
Thanks, Tony
