What size N2O jet?

I swear I have like a performance parts swap meet in my garage. lol So what size jet should I start with? Its 1/4" braided line and I have jets from .050 up to .096. I'm fixing to crank the fuel screw finaly and want to also get that 21cm spooled quicker when need be.

Also, can I inject it before the turbo or does it have to be after the turbo?

Start small and add until it backfires.

Yes, it needs to be post-turbo. Spray it into the intake horn on top of the motor for best results. If you spray it in before the intercooler much of the effect will be dissipated in cooling the plumbing and intercooler.

Cool thanks. I guess that gives me a reason to pull the intake horn off and port/pollish it. So is it ok to have the timing advanced so far and run N2O?

start with the .050 jet. If you inject it too early it will sputter until the boost comes up. If you are spraying too much it will sputter and pop constantly. You will be fine with the timing where it is. The intake horn will probably be the best nozzle location for a 1st gen.

Set your hobbs switch for around 18-20 psi and use a WOT switch.

A .050 is about a 90hp shot of nitrous if using a dry set up. .054 is what i would go for max or its just gonna shut off your engine unless you got a lot of extra black smoke!. That is a 110 shot. or close to. If using a wet shot it can vary. What nitrous kit brand did you buy?

Its one of my extra dry kits I have. No real brand, just a 10lb bottle, large solenoid, and 1/4" braided line. Why am I not supposed to use it at lower boost? Thats where I really need it to clear up the smoke and get the turbo spooled.

Found a really informative write-up about N2O at dieselpower. Aparently there is a sweet spot you have to find because too little and you have small gains and too much you loose power. I will start out with the .050 jet and spray as soon as I get into third. I'll up it little by little from there till I max out its gains.

The way i have mine is a two stage set up. For lower boost i shoot before the intercooler and it cools the air like crazy but dissipated enough that when it hits the engine at low boost its not really nitrous anymore, just cool air. Then i have another shot into the intake horn for when i reach approximately 25lbs of boost. Its more of a trial and error until you find out where your diesel wants to eat that extra nitrous. If you shoot too much it will just shut the engine off but its not going to hurt your engine. Nitrous on a diesel is a good thing actually. It keeps the EGT's down, but adds power. But its sure fun. How much does a bottle cost where you live to fill up at. Here the cheapest i can get is 50 bucks from a private guy.

You can set the nitrous up for spooling the turbo but you would need at least 2 stages. With 2 stages or more you can run small jets in them and bring them on individually and earlier than one big jet. Or the best way to set it up would be with a progressive controller like I run, you can ramp in the nitrous based on percentage over a period of time, that way you can use the nitrous to spool the turbo and for the big power once its lit, and you only need one stage with the controller.

Nope, no nitrous on the 1st gen, just water/meth.
