what to look for????

I'm lookin at buying a 92 cummins 2wd 5speed soon. i need to know what to look for as far as problems go. the truck has 291,XXX miles on it what should i ask and what do i look for before buying.....

I would ask if the KDP has been fixed and if so if the timing case bolts were locktited.not much help my thats my 2 cents.

Killer Dowel pin.

Its a pin that aligns the crank gear when they assemble the engine, it wiggles out RARELY and ruins all your expensive gears and your timing gear case and stuff.

I've seen trucks with 300k on them and the KDP never fell out. Its not very common.

Best thing to do is pull the timing case off and buy the KDP tab kit so it doesn't ever fall out.

Don't let that stop you from buying the truck.

Just read the link i posted above and you'll see everyones opinions on what to look for.
