Ok,

Some of you have done this upgrade. I've found gen 2 and gen 3 used ones. Chevy ones fro. Early 2000s. Any suggestions on what is the easiest?

I'm working with a couple GM square-body ones (81-87). The mounting plate has a slight angle to it. Not installed yet, but I think it will be ok.

I believe the GMT400 ones (88-98) have a straight plate. I don't like how long the 2ndgen Dodge ones end up being. They have the extra bracketry to clear the cowl.

The GM ones from an Astro van are a direct swap, the non-angled firewall bracket is the same as ours.

After some rockauto shopping, looks like it has to be 95-older for the flat/vertical plate, and 93-older could be vacuum instead (may have had to be AWD for hydroboost).

Do you know if other common Dodge/GM masters fit? Or does it limit you to the Astro/Safari one?

I would assume that any GM Masters from that period are probably the same, though I would not state that as gospel. I would guess that checking part # between HB Equipped GMs should give a fairly reliable indication though.

Good to know as I was going to cross reference part #s once I was ready to order, at least before this thread existed.

Looks like someone out there used a G3500 from 98' which was a good match and easy to install. Think they used new GEN 2 dodge PS lines and PS pump.

Not to hi jack but to hopefully add clarity for myself and future researchers.
On The earlier 12 valves you have to replace the PS Pump to do the conversion, so you have the extra port. Does this need done on a 93 or only earlier trucks 91.5 and older?

You can get the later pump so you have the extra return port, or just T both the return lines together and re-use the older styler ['89-'96] pump[s].
