It was good to get the Vanilla Gorilla out of the shop.
It seems to be driving pretty well after the Dana 80 swap. Though I may need to readjust the rear axle pinion angle, as there is a little vibration that seems new. It was super cute to watch the puppies get all excited as my daughter and I prepped up the crew cab. They know that the crew cab is basically the dog limo..
Nice! Good to get things back on the road.

Well adjusted the valves again today.....nothing really changed from last time I did them, but re-adjusted them all again just to be sure. The ticking/rattling noise is still there.

didn't do anything to the truck, though it does need a oil change and fuel filter here pretty soon. I did use it to haul home my new to me motorcycle though. Picked a 1985 Yamaha xv700 up out of Copart salvage auction for just under 300 bucks after fees.

That will look good mark. It's not a dodge but it is a really cool jeep. When I'm due a paint job again it will be gun metal grey

Got a flyer in mail today from Indian motorcycles, saying its time to trade in for a new bike. It was addressed to my mom who's been dead since Jan of 2013.

Anybody Got a Ouija board I can borrow? I need to see if mom would like to upgrade her bike...

Drained the pure distilled water out of the radiator and topped it off with another round. Will drain that tomorrow after commuting and do proper coolant/distilled water mix and be done.

We broke the little tab off the governor tension lever when putting the VE pump back together after installing a 3200 spring. Does anybody know where to get one? I have done searches and don't seem to be able to find one.

Welcome to the club. I did the same thing 10 years ago. While I was able to find the part, the fuel screw was damaged and caused a leak which eventually required me to buy a rebuilt pump. Check to make sure you're isn't similarly damaged before you go to the expense of trying to repair your pump. The damaged fel screw requires the whole top cover be replaced because the screw is impossible to get out without damaging the threads in the cover.

Try the pump rebuilders for replacement parts.

Edwin

Hey TC,

I can fix that ticking noise for you....

Seriously, is it possible it's coming from the belt area, and not the engine itself ? You know, maybe a pulley, tensioner, alternator ?

Or definitely from the engine / clutch area ?

Or is it the valve tappet area ?

Anyway to post a you boob video about it. ?

I love the smell of Diesel fuel in the morning. It's alive again. My wife helped me get a fuel bath (she did pretty good once she figured out we weren't trying to start it) I mean bleed the injectors. It fired right up and sounds pretty good for running on old fuel. now to put some more together.

I just ordered some new rubber doughnuts for the white crew cab.
I have some 37X12.5R17s Dick Cepek Fun Country tires showing up from Tire Rack by Fri. to replace the old 37X13R15s Fun Country tires that have been under there for almost 9 years.
Tire rack is having a good sale on Dick Cepeks right now.
After the Dana 60 to Dana 80 2nd gen rear axle swap my rear tires stick out big time. That axle swap pushed the tires out about 2 1/2 inches a side! I am going too use some aluminum 3rd gen rims to stick the rubber back under the wheel wells in the rear as they have a much better back spacing than the deep dish 15s that have been on there. I am assuming I will need to use 1.5 inch spacers up front to get things dialed in.
