I took yesterday off of work to pick up the shortblock and bring 'er back home.

So, after seeing your truck over the last year, what does this mean you'll actually have to do ?

Break out the windex and a paper towel, and wipe light coating of dust off of them ? Other than completely restored vehicles, I don't think I've ever seen such an untouched lump of IRON before yours.

That moving crate you made up worked out very well, eh ? Nice and stable cartage....

Good to see it in action. Custom, purpose made tools, always seem to fascinate me.

Turns out I didn't get the rear most valve cover gasket seated right after my valve adjustment on the weekend....been loosing a fair amount of oil over the last couple days. Kind of noticed that there was more oil/dripping under the truck...but wasn't until today that I "really" noticed it. So removed the valve cover, cleaned the area and gasket and re-installed. Seems to be stopped now...will check when I get to work tomorrow morning.

So far today, I sprayed Phosphoric acid on my rusty(subjective) brake backing plates.

Stable it was! I don't think it moved at all. I'm certainly proud of it. I'm glad I could impress others with my amateur skills.

The other day I was headed to Hesperia to meet my son, I was going over Cajon Pass on the I-15, I was just pass the summit when the truck let out a loud bang and I lost power,
I backed off the throttle and took the next turnoff.

I pulled into an abandon gas station and found I had blown the crossover pipe off from the turbo.

Being late as usual, I took out a 10mm wrench and had the truck back on the road within 5 minuets.

After I got home I pulled the crossover for inspection, I guess I did not tighten the t-bolt tight enough last time it was off.

I did that last summer. Only mine popped when I let off the throttle on a upshift. I hit a small hill about 1 mile down the road. HHHMMM the CC couldn't hold speed. Looked in the mirror. OH shoot this ain't good.

Is that when you've realized that you have run into a locomotive and the conductor is really mad at you ?

often when the Boot on a crossover blows it whistles. what usually follow ; A loud pop, sssssssss, SHI.... Silicon may not do that. but the old rubber ones would
