When my pumps started going bad and loosing power I had grey/white smoke and hard starts. It was very noticeable that it was on its way out. But they may not all do like mine. Have you checked your shut off solenoid, if ya have one?

Have you checked the shutoff solenoid. Sometimes rubber gets torn off and blocks passages in the pump/injector system.

Any chance yo live in an area where they switch to #1 in the winter? #1 gives less power/smoke compared to #2. Truck will start/run the same. Be sur to run a lubricity additive if this is the case.

Things to check before condemning the pump: Throttle lever travel - are you getting full travel at the pump when the pedal is floored? AFC boost line - is it cracked, is the fitting at the head tight, and is the banjo bolt tight? A boost leak here will kill power. Last thing: Pull the AFC cover and power pin, then cycle the throttle lever while you watch down the hole. A little pin ought to pop out from the front. If it doesn't, it's stuck and is your cause of low power. Sometimes some penetrating oil or carb cleaner will get it going without having to take the pump apart.

it has no leaks i check the afc pipe is changed i made a new one so the air supply gets therefast and it works nicly .. but i will check the afc pin to see if it coming out or not .... but if i have to disassemble it i will just leave the lever out so it will have alots of fuel ... but thanks
