Finally got my new truck!!!!!!!!

Found the truck I have been looking for. Walked into a dealership Saturday on a whim with the wife to show her the Dodge's. What do you know but a guy that goes to our church works there....as the internet sales guy!

He locates the truck I am looking for a couple of hundred miles away, and gives me the invoice sheet and says they will make me a good deal. Talk about meant to happen! hehehe

So yesterday I went back and played the box game with them. Thanks to all the info on this board and others, I think I did pretty well. Got em to invoice less rebates, less FarmB discount. They also gave me over KBB for my trade in! (not much...hehehe but enough to suprise me!).

So the truck should be here today, and baring any unforseen problems, HOPEFULLY tonight i will be the proud new owner of a:

2004.5
600 / 6 spd
4x2 Quad Cab
Bright Metalic Silver / Dark Cloth
Quad Cab Big Horn Value Group
Tow Hooks
17" x 8" Cast Aluminum Wheels
Anti-Spin Differential Axle
Fog Lamps
Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
Sliding Rear Window
Trailer Tow Group
Fold Flat Storage
Folding Power Mirrors
Engine Block Heater
Front Hood Protection Shield
Premium Cloth 40/20/40 Bench Seat
Six-Way Power Driver's Seat
Rear 60/40 Split Folding Seat
Front Center Seat Cushion Storage

Sticker $36.3k, got em down to $28,290 with rebates.

Thanks again everyone, without the info I found here, I would not have done so well!!!!!

Update:

**** I hate sneaky car salesman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the guy I was going through tells me early last week "The dealership we were going to trade with, sold your truck, but I have found a few others."

So me being the suspicious guy I am, I CALL the other dealership, and sure enough.....THEY STILL HAVE THE TRUCK ON THE LOT. And they tell me, they won't trade for it cause the guy has nothing to trade with.

Now keep in mind, I know this guy casualy, and he goes to my church!!!!

So the guy tells me to come up and look at the sheets on the others he has found, which I do, and I give him SEVERAL chances to tell me he can't get the truck, but he keeps on with the "they sold your truck story". So I tell them the deal is off for now as I need to re-think what I want to do.....

I know I know.....I wish I could have gone off on the guy, but my wife wouldnt let me, so I just let it go.

So on the advice of others from here on the board, last Thursday I decided to go by Frontier Dodge in El Reno Oklahoma and see if they had anything on the lot.

I walk in the door, and the place is deserted, this is a rural dealer, with a laid back attitude, and a low pressure sales force. These people are NICE!

The general manager (did not know this at the time) comes out to meet me as he is the only saleman that I can see. We go into his office to talk, and I explain my problem and how ticked off I am at the other dealer etc. 10 seconds later he is on the phone with the dealer who has the truck I want, and works out a trade in even less time. He gets off the phone and we work out the same deal (actually a little better) I had at the other place, I put down a $200 deposit, and he gets the truck to me the next day. You wanna talk about PLEASED!!!!!!! Frontier Dodge in El Reno Oklahoma is by far THE BEST dealership I have ever been to.

I picked the truck up Friday night, and could NOT BE HAPPIER!!!!!!!!!!! This thing ROCKS!

I put 300 miles on it since Friday night, and it drives like a champ! Overhead is reading 18-19mpg even!!!!!

PS - Sticker was $36,300, I paid invoice less rebates, less farm beaureau (sp?) discount, so right around $28.5 I think!

So I will post some pics tomorrow, meant to do it today, but we were too busy with family stuff!

If anyone in Oklahoma needs a Dodge, call up Ralph at Frontier Dodge in El Reno, he WILL HOOK YOU UP!!!!!

Pics to come tomorrow!

Brules,
Glad everything worked out for you. It is a crying shame that some dealerships manage to turn what should be an exciting event into a very trying ordeal.

I don't understand the trade issue between the two dealers. Dealers "buy" vehicles from other dealers all he time for a small transfer fee. I have bought vehicles - 1 Ford & 1 Dodge - where the dealer looked on their factory web site and located the vehicle I wanted. They paid a transfer fee to the other dealer and I had my vehicle in a couple of days. One vehicle was 600 miles away in south Texas and the other was 300 miles away in Arkansas.

FuzzyDuck, Your think the same way as I do.

Brules, if he ask you about the truck tell him, "if he did not lie to you he may have had the sale." Maybe next time he will think about lying to a customer.

Funny you should mention that, It dependes alot on the dealerhip. I take mine in for service with all my mods intact except for the predator box and never have a warranty problem. Look for a dealership with an onsite speed shop IMHO they will be less inclined to void warranty

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

If anyone wants to know the offending dealerships name, please PM me. I don't want to get in trouble possibly for saying bad things about them.

Ray, I live out in Tuttle, but i drive every day to Edmond for work....

As to the trade issue between the dealers, around here, dealers trade trucks, and if one dealer is a high volume dealer and moves alot of them, then the dealer wanting the truck better have an equal truck to trade with, or something the other dealer needs/wants. Dunno the specifics about it, but that is what I gathered from listening to the GM talk to the other guy about geting the truck I wanted up here.

Heres a few quick pics I just took of the truck, spray in bed liner, nerf bars, front window tint and leveling kit go on first thing!!!!!!!!
