water pump
I think my water pump is leaking. I checked with cummins and a remanufactured one seems kind of expensive, but I want a good one. I was wondering if anyone knew of a less expensive alternative, or if it is better to just stay with the cummins part.

Before you replace it, pull it off and see if its damaged. If not get the
o ring and reinstall. If it stops the leak it should be an easy fix.
Pulling the pump is as easy as it gets. 2 bolts and you'll see where the o ring is.

+1 on the aftermarket.
I got mine at O Reilley or similar. No problems. I believe it was around 60 dollars.
Do the molded hoses and radiator hoses while you're doing the pump too. Shouldn't add more than 30-40 dollars to the ticket.

I have found NO problems with the NAPA pump so far. In fact it looked more hightech than the OEM replacement. I put it in in March, I think? Can't remember for sure, but it isn't hard at all.
