I am too. Is water meth a practical way to cool EGT's? My temps are not that bad except for a couple of grades on the way to work. Meth looks simpler to install than an intercooler. Also easier to change oil without intercooler.

Snow makes a good kit, I have stage 2 with a progressive controller and it does prety good. Yes it helps with EGT's Also gives a slight boost in power up hills. I like it fairly well so far. I use Boost Juice sometimes, other times I just use -20* washer fluid. I even used a gallon of distilled water mixed with a couple bottles of Heat mixed one time.

The best kit ive seen is the snow performance universal mpg max kit. It does everything the tow max does and goes across the whole range. I know it averages about a thousand dollars but it is worth every penny if your looking for cooler egts and a little power boost through out your whole rpm and power range. If your only needing it for towing in the high rpm high boost range then the single nozzle tow max kit is also great and around 750 bucks average.

I've looked into AEM, Snow, Coolmist and about 6 others. All of them seem to be doing the same thing as far as the process of injection. The choice of single nozzle or double. Guess it depends how much cooling your trying to get. The main difference is the controllers used that I can find. On our first gens it all works off of boost. Anyone running an AEM ?

I just installed a MPG max kit from Snow. It seems to work well, and in general I like it, but there are a few, ahem, oversights on their part. I suppose I should take this time to say that I am an industrial electrician, and install and maintain instrumentation on a daily basis, so this is more or less a comparison to quality of parts in a gas plant, which may or may not be fair. The biggest problem I had with the kit is the cheapness of the fittings (I know, swagelok isnt free). I really dislike push-lock style fittings, they leak and just suck in general, so a thumbs down there. Also, the location of the fuse on the power wire... cant see anybody installing this kit without cutting that off. The wiring schematic was, well, ya. Not so great. Not a fan of their mounting strategy for the controller, if there is a plan, that is. And the last thing I had a problem with is the boost hose connection to the intake. Wow. A rubber hose onto a barbed fitting on one end, slipped over a dacron hose to the monitor and ty-rapd on. That one is really bad. So by now I suppose you have concluded that I really dislike the kit. Not so. It functions really well, and if you have a good understanding of wiring (this is not a grade 3 project kids), decently straightforward to install. I used a relay to supply power to the thing, which I would recommend for this kit for sure, and probably any other kit as well. The controller is pretty smart, and fairly simple to set up. EGTs are lower for sure, and I suspect that mileage will improve as well, but I havent run the thing long enough to say. A noticeable bump in power, but not why I installed the kit (looking for mileage). Also, if you are expecting a 'Fast and Furious' Nitrous type experience, this is not the way to get it. I suspect Nitrous would be a good place to start. Overall, in comparison to the myriad kits I have installed over the years and into trucks, this kit I would rate about 7/10 for quality and value. The solenoids seem to be good quality, the thermocouple and connector are good (take your time on that one and do it right. On those thermocouple connectors there are only two ways of doing it. Quickly or correctly). The boost gauge seems several times as accurate as the stock MAP, and has .1 PSI resolution, the proportional control is smooth and well done. The transition from off to on and off again is seamless, there is no jerking or surging. The setup is pretty user friendly, just keep that white book looking thing after you open the box and setup will go smoothly. Bottom line, if you tow alot this will lower your EGTs, and give you more power if you need it, and unless you run your truck like a moron, should be decently safe for your engine life. What this is not, however, is a magical way to not melt your stock transmission just because you kept your chip on a lower setting and didnt over temp all the time.

Whichever one you buy. Get one with a 100 psi progressive controller and i will trade you my 30 psi one lol. i run a cooling mist set up and have so for a while now. If you would like to take a look at it you nowhere i am. I just took the toy trailer on a 1200 miles vacation & only used 4 gallons of -20 blue juice It really cools egt,s while towing. I have it set to come on at 20 psi or about 1100 degrees and full on at 30 psi. You can watch the egt gague start to drop when i am hard on the skinney pedal. Also try a valet switch i have to use it while towing.
