Water/meth injection questions

Well i've thought more and more about gettin a water/meth kit for my truck to help it run a little cooler and maybe even get some more power? I think these kits sound like they are worth the money, and will give easy power and will cool things down. My question is do i have to have head studs, or have my head O ringed or Fire ringed or any head work to run water/meth? I don't have any head work done yet and don't wanna mess anything up by running one of these kits. I wasn't plannin on runnin water/methanol mix all the time, I'll probably just run water most the time just to keep things cool. Also what is the best kits for the money you can buy? Snow perforance? Devil's Own? thanks

The biggest thing I can say... don't skimp on the pump. You don't need studs for water injection, and that's really all you need. The meth will add a little hp, and increase timing, but I personally believe that the straight water is better.

How high do your EGTs get? Water for sure helps with that. Meth helps the most on trucks that aren't already overfueled. Mine made about 35 hp on 50/50 but I know of other trucks that have made 80+ that had twins or less fuel.

I can peg a 1500 gauge pretty easy. The water helps out a bit, and I agree with the over fueled part. I have PLENTY of fuel...

Lary has a good kit in the DTR store, I wish I had gotten that one. There are others out there, Schied has a great set up, but you'll pay for it.

Look at my sig regarding my W/M numbers. I'm unning a Snow Analog Stage 3 controller with a .375 and a .625 nozzles. I am considering Snows newest Stage 3 Digital controller with on the fly adjustments.

I can hit 1500 degrees now if i have it hammered for quite a while, like while racin. I was thinkin about goin with devil's own diesel universal stage I kit, because it is the best deal i've found, and just planned on usin my windshield washer tank. I probably will run just mostly water to keep her cool for now but some water/meth mix would be fun sometimes too.

But my main question is, I don't have to have any head work done to run water/meth??? I can run water/meth mix on a stock head or can i only run water on a stock head??

Oh and also could i run just regular windshield washer fluid and gain a little power or is it mixed with a lot more water?

I run 50/50 water/meth on an original HG and stock un retorqued bolts. Wastegate is at 40 psi. So far no antifreeze on the floor.

Using your washer fluid tank is like throwing a glass of water on a forest fire. I can use 1/2 to 1 gallon of mix with 3 to 5 runs on the dyno. You will need a larger tank to keep the EGTs down for any length of time.

I ran the devils own kit, I believe the stage two kit. I had two 12gph squirters, and I had the switch set to come on around 20 PSI. With just water it lowered my egt's around 200 degrees if I recall correctly. With my setup I had a one gallon tank under the hood. I added an inter cooler a day or two before I got my w/m kit, so I only needed the water injection for full throttle runs. I also had my setup on a toggle switch so I could turn it off. With my setup the water tank usually lasted for one tank of diesel, but I drove pretty nice most of the time. I gained about 50HP and 40 pound ft of torque with a 50/50 ish mix. The exact numbers are in my sig.

I don't plan on using it all the time, Probably just when i need it, and i will probably run mostly water in it just to keep it cool unless i need the power. I think i will go with the devils own kit for now and if i need to upgrade nozzles or a pump, or a tank, I can do that when i need to. thanks for the help guys!
