Water in the fuel

I know this has been address before but i can't seem to find it.

I just bought a 1992 D350 which has been sitting for about a year.

When you go to start the truck the idiot light says water in fuel during start up and while running.

I pushed the plunger on the bottom of the fuel filter up while the engine was not running 3 times until it was empty. Then i would turn the ignition until the accessories came on for 20 seconds times 3 to prime the lines again before starting. Hope i'm doing this right.

Long story short the idiot light is still on ? What should i do next ? New fuel filter and ?

Thanks guys !

You don't have a electric fuel pump (unless its aftermarket) If the truck has been sitting for a year definately change the fuel filter. There's a lever on the lift pump you use to prime the system back up after you change the filter or drain the water
