Need to get a manual and instead of wondering which to get I thought I would have the "brain trust" on DTR point me in the right direction. What say ye??

Just an overall manual, exploded views, where everything is....like a "Haynes" or something?

 

Probably the best one is the Field Service Manual (FSM) specific to your year truck. You can find a used one or a bound copy on the Great Auction Site for sthg between 40 to 80 bucks. It's pretty darn comprehensive.

 

I thought FSM was Factory Service Manual?

Anyways, I know genos garage had them a while back. Get the one for a 1993 it will include the section on rebuilding the getrag.

 

Definitely get the FSM. I'd be a big dummy without mine.

Thank you men. Geno's seems to have them on CD for $30. Have you seen that?

 

CD's are nice cause you can just print out the pages you need and if they get greasy it's ok. Back when I bought mine CD's were not as available as now and I like having a big book to look in once and a while. I do currently have both thou.

Thanks Bogie. The $60 difference between paper and a CD gets me half of my new DennyT. I'll go with the CD for now. Besides, I have a laptop in my garage.
